Idlis are very delicious by themselves anyways, add to that batter, nicely tempered, roasted vegetables and it definitely tastes more delicious than ever.
An absolutely delicious find! My sister came up with this recipe. Her son lives on an idli diet and to make sure he ate some vegetables with it too, she came up with a variation of the original recipe.
Idlis are very delicious by themselves anyways, add to that batter, nicely tempered, roasted vegetables and it definitely tastes more delicious than ever. This was one of the first Arabic dishes that I tasted on one of the middle eastern flights and WOW did it turn out to become one of my all time favourites! Simple as it can get with all textures needed to keep you wanting for more.
Moutabel sis made from smoked or boiled brinjals, mixed with virgin olive oil and other seasonings. It can also be used as a dip. What a perfect way to feast on 2 - 3 day old idlis tossed with a little variation to the recipe.
Gujaratis are known for making not just innovative, but delicious snacks. People definitely get judgmental, when on tours, their gujju friends carry their own snacks and meals. But one bite of that, and you would want to do the same! They are absolutely lip-smacking delicious!
I had never tasted handvo before I got married. And as soon as I did, I headed straight to my room, got a pen and paper and noted the recipe without missing the smallest detail. And now, I make this atleast once every 10 - 14 days. Gujju food is that captivating! This is a must try. Hope you not just enjoy feasting on it, but making it too. A perfect mélange of crunchy lettuce, carrots and pimentos with a nice filling bite of kidney beans and bulgur wheat.
Bon Appétit On one of the weekends, I had made Moong Dal Dhoklas, and had a bit of left over batter.
I definitely didn't want to throw it out and neither make some more dhokla from it. Hence made this slight variation to the batter and fried it. It turned out to be such a hit with all my friends! Especially having it as a snack, you have to add some lemon juice to it and sliced onions. A perfect snack for an evening tea party. This is one of my all time favourites, when on a hot summer day, you want to have a nice, light, refreshing, yet filling salad. The dressing is the best part! Yummy, sour and tangy!
Bon Appétit My husband and I are major pasta freaks! We can literally have arrabiatta for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
So whenever I make pasta sauce at home, it is always in lock, stock and barrel proportions! A very simple and delicious recipe. The best part about this sauce is that without adding any cream or béchamel sauce, it still ends up tasting rich and creamy! You have to read the recipe to know that secret. This is definitely one of the tastiest Pasta Sauce recipes, and my Mum-in-Law taught me this. I hope you enjoy making this and feasting on it as much as we do. Bon Appétit Close to our house, there was a marwadi mithai shop, and they would always make the best khandvi (Suralichya Vadya in marathi). I remember, every weekend, it would be a ritual to get this for a snack, and i would give everyone else only 1 khandvi each and feast on the rest, myself!
I have always loved this snack and wondered how they could make it so beautifully thin, glossy AND tasty without putting any additives in the recipe. Finally, when my mom-in-law saw my love for it, she taught me how to make it, and it's not difficult AT ALL! What a wonderfully simple and quick recipe! All you have to do it follow it exactly, and the khandvi would turn out great! Happy Cooking! I can't even find words to describe the love for this dish. It's one of the first Arabic dishes I tasted, and instantly added it to my most favourites! One of the simplest recipes, but with stunning blend of flavours.
It tastes amazing as a side dish, appetizer, a dip, or as a spread for a sandwich. Hummus is scooped with flatbread, such as pita. It is also served as part of a mezze or as an accompaniment to falafel, grilled chicken, fish or eggplant. Garnishes include chopped tomato, cucumber, coriander, parsley, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, whole chickpeas, olive oil, hard-boiled eggs, paprika, olives, pickles and pine nuts. Outside the Middle East, it is sometimes served with tortilla chips or crackers. A very simple and a quick recipe, a definitely must try. If you have a bit of all possible vegetables left in the fridge, then no other way to use them as, than in a delicious lasagna.
It makes such a perfect meal with its ingredients. It definitely is one of my favourites! When I am in a mood to finish the kitchen work as quickly as possible with least amount of labour hours, this preparation is my first choice always. Hardly takes 30 - 45 minutes and is perfectly filling. The best part is, any vegetables taste great in it. A little back-ground check on this dish; Lasagna is a wide, flat pasta shape and possibly one of the oldest. As with most other types of pasta, the word is a plural form, lasagne meaning more than one piece of lasagna ribbon. The word also refers to a dish made with this type of pasta in several layers interspersed with layers of various ingredients and sauces, typically including ricotta cheese, tomato sauce, meat (e.g., ground beef or pork), and in some cases, spinach, that is then baked in the oven. Lasagne is typically flavoured with wine, garlic, onion, and oregano. Gujaratis are known for making not just innovative, but delicious snacks. People definitely get judgmental, when on tours, their gujju friends carry their own snacks and meals. But one bite of that, and you would want to do the same! They are absolutely lip-smacking delicious!
I had never tasted khamni before I got married. Didn't have the wildest idea that something like that existed. When my family visited our house in Ahmedabad, my mum-in-law had made this for everyone as a snack. And as soon as I tasted it, I headed straight to my room, got a pen and paper and noted the recipe without missing the smallest detail. And now, I make this atleast once a month. Gujju food is that captivating! This is a must try. Hope you not just enjoy feasting on it, but making it too. Another genius invention by my mum-in-law.
A very simple recipe with delicious results! Best way to get the kids to eat some healthy and delicious food. We would always have this for breakfast in the business and first class cabins and has been my favourite breakfast ever since.
Delicious, filling and a perfect way to fuel your day. |
